Year 12 Social and what not

Normally people aren't always that keen on going to these school-organised events, but this year the majority of Year 12s went, seeing as it would be our last one. The theme was "Forever Young", and I quite liked it, because you can interpret it in different ways and it more or less relates to us Seniors being kids for the last time. Many people decided to dress up as characters from when they were young, such a characters from the various Disney movies but also other TV shows such as The Wiggles and The Teletubbies. At first I had the intention of going in bad taste, thus dressing up as Michael Jackson who likes to be "Forever Young". You know plastic surgery, thinking he is Peter Pan and raping little boys. MY God the intro to his song "I just can't stop loving you" is evidence enough:

I Just Want To Lay Next To You
For A While
You Look So Beautiful Tonight
Your Eyes Are So Lovely
Your Mouth Is So Sweet
A Lot Of People
Misunderstand Me
That's Because They Don't
Know Me At All
I Just Want To Touch You
And Hold You
I Need You
God I Need You
I Love You So Much
All that in a soft whispering voice. Yea real nice. *Shivers*

Anyway, my Michael Jackson costume didn't quite work out and so instead I hired a massive chicken costume. How a chicken is 'forever young' is up to you. The night was pretty good. Not great, not bad, just pretty good. The Burnside Town Hall was a good venue and the turnout wasn't bad either. One thing the Social did lack though was a proper DJ. Someone told me this was their first proper gig. Well, it showed. Not to worry. Come the afterparty I was just too tired to do anything. I caught a cab home at 2 and got a measly 4 and a half hours of sleep before having to go to Open Soccer. In conclusion, I don't regret going, but I didn't have the time of my life either. How do you rate the Social? Vote in the new poll.

Now for some comic relief:

We're in for the last week of Term and then into a period named Holidays, although I doubt many of us will have much of it. The ski trip will be a nice couple of days away, but apart from that it will be mainly exam revision and extended essay etc.

Yesterday I awoke to travel the short distance to Rostrevor and played most of the Open A's game which we lost. Even though we hate them, I must admit The Rossie boys played with sophistication, their attacks ripping up our defense with ease, time and time again. The Open B's was a different story, with the Mercs dominating pretty much the entire match. Afterwards Tom and I went back to mine until it was time to go to the First XVIII footy, also at Rostrevor. Needless to say the Camels got whipped about 27 goals to none.

Scwhin's All Black play Twixt United, who beat us last time, so it will be a revengeful game. I think a new word was just invited. I'll leave it at that.
