M*A*S*H Party: Lauren's 17th
This was written on the 15th of May and subsequently edited. I just wish everyone would quit whining for me to post:
For anyone that's thinking of hosting a party, take Laurens as an example! When you think of what it is that makes a party good, it's really a magic formula. You need the right kind of area, not too big, not too small. Room to move around, but not too spread out. You probably want some seating areas, as well as a place to stand. Key ingredient, especially for me, is the dancefloor plus music. You need speakers that you can feel, not just hear. And the speakers need to be playing something along the lines of EuroTrash. And basically, Laurens had it all! The atmosphere was just right.
I was somewhat late to the Netherby venue as earlier that night, when I was busy pulling old army stuff from the closet I decided to put on a pair of handcuffs which I hadn't seen in a while. I was wrong to assume the keys would be in the same bag. Yes, I had successfully handcuffed myself and I had no keys. After looking for the keys, it was decided I would have to be broken free. Dad sawed of one and then was able to crack the other open with a well-placed screwdriver. Anyway, it saved me making up some excuse I was dress as a POW or something lol. So, yea. That's my embarrassing moment for this month.
Dress as a M*A*S*H character turned out to be very good. There were dirty doctors, naughty nurses, sexy soldiers and even some porno priests. I had a specially prepared CD with me; the official M*A*S*H Trash. After some convincing of Rachel, who thought she had the ultimate playlist (I do admit, it was quite good. Spose its the Euroness we share), I finally got to play the MashTrash. Anyway, the dancefloor was filled to the max with everyone screaming and jumping. Twas great. I remember the time where everyone was lining the little elevated part doing the macarena. Great stuff. Lots of eager ppl who wanted to become bricklayers just like me, just keep practicing.
So thanks Lauren, for an Awesome time (with a capital A). Looking forward to many equally good partays. Ryan's 18th, although it is still some time away is much anticipated. Everyone is already heavily discussing what they are going to go as.
I did not personally take photos on the night. There are plenty of capable people out there with digicams, so poo! Stop taking my photography/publishing services for granted! I've said this before, but to get the pictures from the camera to the blog is a bitch, and it takes over an hour, if not two with a reasonable write up, assuming you even bother to read it (Mon).

Thanks Monique, for the pictures.
