Updateskies
While the Star Wars nerds are lining up to see the latest Lucas creation, I thought I'd do a quick posties.
I really should be there, in that I quite like Star Wars. But it being mid-week, and I am already having trouble keeping my eyes open, I thought I'd better put it off to this weekend. Mind you, if any of you decide to blurt out spoilers, you will pay.
Recent events:
The FreshFM transmission party was on Sunday. It was all-ages till about 10:30 and seeing as I was bored and home-alone, I sure would have liked to have gone. Yet, it didn't happen, as nobody else felt the need for more beats after Laurens. I ended up listening to it live over the (streaming) radio instead. It would have been very good.
I am starring in a French play alongside Madame Davies and other French fanatics (two men). We act out an extract from Moliere's Tartuffe. I play the Madame Davies' son, Damis. I barely have a page of lines, but it's in French, and so as far as acting goes, it can be difficult to interpret and act out. The others have helped me get a feel for what is going on, (lots of frantic French screaming) and we should hopefully be ready for our performance at the Cafe Theatre, at the Alliance Francaise on the 22nd of May. Tickets are 5 bucks I believe. Of course I couldn't resist when Madame asked me after getting back from retreat, but this should also give me some Creativity hours for CAS. :D
Telstra has reduced my connection speed to dial-up slowness, because as it stands, my usage meter reads a whopping 26,429 MB. With the arrival of my iPod I have since download a lot of music. 26GB worth? No.. not quite. I think that's total traffic, including uploads as well as downloads. But yea, this means I will have to put up with laggy Counter-Strike and crappy as loading times for browsing da web for the coming two weeks or so.
For those who have expressed their interest, the M*A*S*H Trash Track list was as follows:
Today the Year 12's got a taste of what it's like to be in a car accident, and the consequences that stem from such incidents, both short and long term. The fire-crew showed us what it takes to bust open a car (this one wasn't even smashed up). Using the spreaders, or "Jaws of Life" and other powertools, to tear the metal open and snap off door hinges etc. The time it took was most frightening of all. They then showed us a rather disappointing, supposedly graphic and gory, video of road accidents. It was way out of date, and it didn't really connect. I am also immune to gore. "Yea everyone, this is David. He's DEAD!". Something that did hit home with me is that in one instant, you can make the wrong decision that could affect you for the rest of your life. Particularly if you end up a quadra- or paraplegic, and you have to rely on caretakers etc to do everything for you; eg wipe your ass etc. Basically it would suck to live like that and it's really not worth it.
On a lighter note, soccer is back this weekend! The Mighty Mercs are taking on CBC at home (Waite). I know, I know, soccer players don't wear as short-a-shorts as football players, nor do we wear revealing, tight jumpers. But we are very athletic and skilled, so come watch us; it's the world game. A's kick off at 8:30, je crois.
Il faut que je travaille a mon literature mondial thingo. You know, World Lit.

1]Born To Be Alive 3:33 Disco KingsSadly we only got up to about track 17, because the amp gave way. The new EuroTrash is in the making and it is likely to be a double disc, the first disc containing popular/ current music, the second focusing on the dance/club/trance type of music. It should have a bit of everything. The next person to have a birthday party will be the recipient, I am guessing Ryan!
