Bonjour!
Hi everyone, looks like I have finally woken up from my idle state of non bloggering.
In the mean time,
* Holland lost in the semi finals to Portugal
* Bombs exploded
* The semester finished
* More bombs exploded
* Greece was crowned the champion of Europe
* More Bombs went boom
* Sarah von Sanden's gathering was had
Not a whole lot in other words, but as you can probably guess I am sick of the bomb explosions in the Middle East. Day after day buses are rigged with explosives and ppl get blown to pieces. It's the same old thing over and over again. And as for the idiots responsible, it is not solving anything and it is definetly not going to get you what you want. (Whatever the @!&# that may be). Try something original, you know, be a bit creative for a change because bombs are lame. yes lame!
On the more brighter side of life, there have been some fabulous group outings lately. Starting Tuesday night, the boys went Go-Karting! at Richmond. Organised by race fanatic Anthony, participants (i almost wrote participators then, ...must be time for school hehe) included Tom, Daniel, Nick, Phil, Bill, Jason, indeed Anthony and myself. There were 8 of us all up and the track was ours for the taking for the night; we competed in a championship consisting of practice laps, proper qualifying and several races thereafter.
Warming up, gave us the chance to get to know the track and the gokarts. I am mainly referring to the crazy hair pin turn just before the straight. At least, it took me quite a few spin outs to get the hang of it. I really can't remember the exact details of every race. But I do remember only moments into the second to last race, seeing the orange warning light come on, thinking to myself "what idiot...", then to look across seeing three gokarts piled up. I believe Daniel, Nick and Bill were involved. I laughed.
Anthony was the overall winner, with the fastest lap of 21.57 seconds. The final race he started 8th and I started in 7th place. I don't think Anty himself even knows how he did it but he managed to shoot past 5 other ppl in the first turn to get to 3rd position from 8th! Amazing. Most of us were left with sore hips, butts and backs the next day but it was all worth it. Daytonaaa! I will post the score sheet once tom scans it for me ;)
Here it is:
Notice Daniel got 7 points deducted for pushing lol.
