Au revoir les blues

Another major upset in the Euro2004 tournament with Greece beating France, the clear favourites! A goal midway through the 2nd half secured the Greeks a spot in the semi finals. The defending champions are now out of the competition along with other former winners Italy, Germany and Spain. For those who watched the game, that goal rocked! A chip from the edge of the box across goal set up Angelos Charisteas for the perfect header. Barthez had no chance of getting that.


Trademark header

Saturday night, or Sunday here in Australia, The Netherlands play against Sweden, the winner will go on to play Portugal in the semi finals. Greece will play the winner from Czech and Denmark. Marten and I will wake up at 4:00 am to watch the game. I think it will be a very tight game. Sweden were first in their group and we (The Netherlands) only just scraped through. Let's just hope it won't end in a penalty shoot out, because then we are doomed. Holland sucks at penalties...
