ni hao! ^_^
Last night was fun-filled as Ryan hosted the preliminary "tennis-court soccer" round. Most of us had had soccer training only a few hours before, so yea, many-a- soccer. With only 4 a side with subs and limited space the game requires skill, quick decision making and the ability to cope with the enormous guilt of breaking a leg of a plastic chair that acts as a goalpost; more on that later. The partcipants were: Ryan, Paul (Ryan's farger), David, Jeremy, Anthony, Chen, Charlie, Jason, Toby, Simon and myself. Initially we were using Ryan's World Cup 2002 "Fevernova" soccer ball, when Chen wipped out his specky Euro 2004 "Roteiro" soccer ball. As this was just a training round, the score didn't matter it was merely about having fun. And fun we had. Chen with his Back to the Future part II shoes really fired up the court and was even willing to steal the ball of his team mates just to get another chance at scoring. The goals where made up of those plastic stackable chairs on either side on the baseline. As previously experienced, a well place shot can easily take out a leg and send it flying. This indeed happened on many occasions. I took out the first leg and David decided to take out another two after that. So, now we had half standing, half lying down chairs with missing parts, but the game went on. We played deep into the night, when gradually it broke up and we all went home. Next week we are I'm hoping to host the next event up here in Terrrrrrringie and it should now become the regular friday night thing.
Seeing as we have to write about 10x10^1000000 words for a collection of English assignments, I better start my pre-typing spree hand warm ups. I think I will buy a pair of those nerdy gaming gloves to prevent blisters from forming. Wish me luck. More later
